Montgomery Zoo features over 700 animals spanning over 150 species from 5 different continents, all housed in natural habitats. It was established in 1920, and in 1989, the Zoo underwent a major expansion encompassing over 48 acres. In order to maintain the health and well-being of the animals in the Zoo's care, they have animal care specialists, conservation and preservation specialists, veterinarians and animal care technicians, education curators, trainers, maintenance and operation engineers and more. Jubilee City Fest is a three-day, family-friendly, arts and music festival, located in downtown Montgomery, Alabama. It is the city's largest music and children's festival that features three stages with national, regional and local entertainment, fireworks, ArtsFest, 8k/2mile run, and a free concert by the Montgomery Symphony Orchestra.
Festival in the Riverfront Park is usually held the first Saturday in October, and incorporates arts and crafts with entertainment, food, and music to offer something for just about everyone. You'll find everything from cloggers to ballet, and Gershwin to bagpipes, three stages, an arena and the band shell that provides continuous entertainment. Also, several hundred artists send in slides of their work, and over 200 exhibitors will display their wares including paintings, graphics, pottery, jewelry, furniture and holiday items. You can also find plants, stained glass, and a wide variety of toys for children. This fun event is not to be missed!
